NWA Crockett Cup 2020

From the Gateway Arena in College Park, Georgia it’s the NWA Crockett Cup 2020 presented by the National Wrestling Alliance.

The NWA or National Wrestling Alliance has gone through a massive resurgence over the past year after the deserved success of the NWA Powerrr on YouTube. Their connection to their audience both in their throwback studio style wrestling show and those watching around the world on TV, Smartphones, tablets and more.

NWA Into The Fire was their first PPV of this new era and went down as a late contender for one of my shows of the year in December 2019. With the main event coming to a close and NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis going up against James Storm. Aldis would retain that night but would be interrupted by one of the hottest free agents within the wrestling world. Marty Scurll. Scurll challenged him for the 10 pounds of gold and after skirmishes over both Ring Of Honor shows and NWA Powerr we would get an answer.

We would see Nick Aldis and his newly formed faction Strictly Business consisting of Kamille, Thomas Latimer and Royce Isaacs after a vicious attack on former NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion Tim Storm. These four have run roughshod over the NWA and of course appearing on ROH shows to attack friends of Scurll.

At NWA Hard Times, Villain Enterprises Mercenary, Flip Gordon would face Nick Aldis in a non title match in the main event. Scurll would interupt and convince Aldis to make the match for the NWA World’s Heavyweight Championship. He would accept on one condition and that would be that any further dealing between him and Scurll in NWA and ROH would be on his terms, if he won. After some interference and a hard fought match Aldis would retain and have the upper hand from now on.

Aldis would state that he would only give Scurll another title shot if he refunded everyone’s ticket when he ended up losing. Scurll countered with some negotiations between Scurll’s Villain Enterprises and Aldis’ Strictly Business camps the stipulation was set.

If Marty Scurll loses he will personally pay Nick Aldis $500,000. The stakes are as high as they could be.

Last year at Crockett Cup 2019 the two men went one on one as friends. This year Villain Enterprises has met the force of Strictly Business. This year Marty Scurll represents the invading Ring Of Honor (ROH) as Nick Aldis represents the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA)

Let’s not forget what the Crockett Cup is all about though. It’s a single elimination tag team tournament which happens on one night. The winning team will be presented with the Crockett Cup trophy which traces its lineage back to the first tournament in 1986.

The Crockett Cup returned last year and had teams from CMLL, New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and Ring Of Honor (ROH). This year will be no exception so look forward to seeing the Rock N Roll Express, Strictly Business and many more names to be announced. We’ll probably see the current NWA World Tag Team Champions Eli Drake and James Storm involved aswell.

FITE TV are doing a great deal at the moment with the NWA Crockett Cup 2020. If you preorder now before April 9th 2020, you can get one of the best tag team tournaments and a hell of a main event for a low price of $19.99.

The early bird special ends on April 9th and then it will go back up to $29.99 which is not a bad price either. I’ll be breaking down as many of the events as I can over the coming weeks.
